Interest Based Negotiation and Mediation for Businesses

In the period 25-29 September and 7-9 November, CNPM attended two courses on “Interest based Negotiation and Mediation” This training was focused on developing participants skills to mediate conflicts before a case goes to court. Mediation is relatively new for Moldova, but it has lots of advantages for business such as reduced costs and duration for conflict settlement, focus on interests, creating long-term partnerships, etc.

Among the main topics approached were the following: Identifying interests; Common and different possibilities for resolving conflicts; Conflict: from opposition to development; The dynamics of development of the conflict; Destructive and constructive conflicts; Mediation as a process; Principles of mediation; Stages and phases of mediation; Procedural characteristics of mediation; The roles and functions of the mediator; Working with relationships and emotions in the process of mediation and others.

The training course was held on the basis of the German-Moldovan Twinning Program (SEQUA gGmbHBildungswerk der Wirtschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (BdW) and the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova), established under the East-Invest II Project, implemented with the support of Eurochambres.
