The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration gathered society representatives at the 2nd inaugural meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform (CSP).
During the 2nd session, the National Confederation of Employers of Moldova (NCEM), together with other representatives of civil society aimed on examination the implementation of the association agreement during the period 2014-2016, including the component of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Areas (DCFTA), as well as on elaboration of common declaration of civil society, in response to the conclusions of the EU-Moldova Association Council from 31st of March 2017.
Daniela Morari, the Deputy Minister of External Affairs and European Integration pointed the priorities agenda of European Integration of Moldova, highlighted the role and contribution of civil society in efforts of implementing the Association Agreement and urged civil society representatives to increase their involvement in the process of implementing its provisions and updating the National Plan of implementing the Agreement for 2017-2019, as well as engaging in partnerships designed to support promotion of the dimension of strategic communication of the European integration process. Also, the importance of consolidation of civil society capacities in offering expertize towards the implementation of commitments deriving from the Association Agreement was stressed, especially in complex fields and fields with a high degree of technicality.
“From employers’ perspective things are relatively good. Government declared itself as pro-business and through its actions is dedicated to develop the business environment. We appreciate the activity of the Economic Council of Prime Minister, which is a platform through which the decision maker factor has been reached and through this way we overcome the obstacles met by the business environment”, declared Vladislav Caminschi, Executive Director of the NCEM.
The EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform is an entity established in accordance with the provisions of the Association Agreement as a forum for meetings and exchange of opinions between exponents of civil society from our country and from Community.
