Moldova and Latvia signed two Protocols of economic cooperation

On the 8 of June in Chisinau was held the second meeting of the Joint Cooperation Council in Moldovan-Latvian business organized by the Confederation of Employers of Latvia (LDDK) and the National Confederation of Employers of Moldova (CNPM).

The event was held within the third intergovernmental session. The both parties elucidated the results of the meeting of the Joint Cooperation Council in Moldovan-Latvian business created at the initiative of the Confederation of Employers from Latvia and the National Confederation of Employers of Moldova. Also members of the delegations have estimated the importance of this platform to promote and support the commercial cooperation in business and in investments between the two countries. The parties agreed to monitor the applying of agreements that were achieved within the meeting of the Joint Cooperation Council in Moldovan-Latvian business.

At the end of the third session of the intergovernmental Comission, Vitalie Iurcu, the deputy minister of the Economy of the Republic of Moldova and Zaiga Liepina, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Latvia have signed the Protocol of the third session of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic, industrial, scientifica and technical cooperation between Moldova and Latvia. And the bilateral Protocol of the Cooperation Council in Moldovan-Latvian was signed by Ion Prisacaru and Imants Kanashka, Co-chairmen of the Moldovan-Latvian Business Cooperation Council.

According to the data of the Moldovan Ministry of Economy, in present, in Moldova there are 57 companies with Latvian capital. Their social capital sums up to about 28 million lei. During the first 3 months of this year, the volume of commercial exchange between two states constituted 2,8 million dollars. Compared to the same period of 2016, during the first semester of this year, the Moldovan exports in Latvia increased by 8.4%, and imports decreased by 17.6%.
